空き家の電気

日本の田舎に住んでいた頃の話です。
家の向かいに、ずっと誰も住んでいない空き家がありました。
隣は小さな墓地です。
ある夜、ふと外を見ると—
その空き家の電気がついていたんです。
「あれ？誰か引っ越してきたのかな」と思いました。
でも数日後、近所の人に聞いたらこう言われました。
「いや、あそこはもう十年以上ずっと空き家だよ」
それを聞いてから、気になって夜になると確認するようになりました。
すると、電気は毎日じゃないけど、
決まって深夜だけ、たまにつくんです。
昼間に人の出入りを見たことは一度もありません。
今でも理由は分かりません。
